Life on Two Wheels: A Travelogue of American History and Culture


Spring 2021

Anthro 101: Biking USA Planning Course (3 credits). This three-credit, hybrid course is designed to help prepare students to bicycle across the USA in the summer of 2022. Students will design the scholarly or creative project they intend to explore on their coast-to-coast ride. They will also devise a summer fitness plan. Students will learn biking skills, including the rules of ethos and riding in a group; basic bicycle maintenance and repair; and basic camping skills. They will participate in route planning. There will be multiple weekend rides.

Fall 2021

ANTH 430-9901 – Biking USA - Allows class riding and camping, 1 credit

Summer 2022

CAP 469J Topics in Anthropology – Exploring America on Two Wheels, (SLO 12) 3-6 credits
